PET recycling firm Circularix has opened the first of its five planned facilities.
The Hatfield, Pa. plant will contribute to a total production capacity across the five facilities of 275 million pounds of RPET pellets per year, a press release noted.
Circularix launched in June 2022 as a joint venture with Macquarie Group and HPC Industries, a management company owned by Circularix CEO Leon Farahnik.
Farahnik was formerly the CEO of PET reclaimer CarbonLite before it filed for bankruptcy and was sold in early 2021.
According to Farahnik, the company's other plants are on schedule. He stated in a previous interview that those facilities are slated to be built in Arizona, Florida, Texas and the Pacific Northwest.
"Our commitment is first and last to helping companies meet their sustainability goals as together we contribute concretely and responsibly to a sustainable future," Farahnik said in the press release.
