Naperville News Digest: SHARE support group hosts butterfly release memorial; DuPage Credit Union holding recycling, shredding event; Naperville police, foundation to hold cyber security seminar
SHARE, a support group for those who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death, will hold its annual Wings of Hope Angel Garden blessing and butterfly release at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington St.
Dr. Kevin Madsen, a specialist in maternal-fetal medicine, will be the guest speaker.
The butterfly release will take place at the hospital's garden, which opened in 2010 on the south side of the campus to allow parents who lost a baby to remember and celebrate their child's life, a news release said. The garden includes memorial bricks, benches, fountains and plants that attract butterflies.
The event is open to anyone, not just SHARE members.
The support group meets twice a month at Edward Hospital and also online. There's also a hospital support group, Sharing HOPE, for women who are now pregnant after suffering a miscarriage or loss of an infant.

The DuPage Credit Union will conduct its 10th annual Drive, Drop and Donate event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 16, at its Naperville operations center, 1515 Bond St.
For a $10 minimum donation, residents can recycle electronics or shred documents. Cash and credit cards are accepted.
All proceeds benefit the credit union's "We’ve Got Your Back" fundraiser, which provides local students in need with backpacks and school supplies.
Last year, the credit union raised more than $3,500 for the cause, organizers said in a news release. Since beginning in 2014, the effort has raised about $116,000 for DuPage County students.
"This is a great opportunity to clear clutter and help local students start the school with essential supplies," Amy Brandt, senior vice president of digital, payments and learning transformation, said in a statement. "Every dollar raised helps lessen the financial burden of purchasing supplies for local families struggling at this time."
A list of what items will be accepted during the recycling event can be found at www.dupagecu.com/backpacks.
The Naperville Police Foundation and the Naperville Police Department will host a free workshop to help residents avoid being victims of cyber crimes.
The Cyber Security seminar will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15 at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
Specialists will talk about financial crimes and scams and ways to protect oneself. Officials from the foundation and police department said in a news release that cyber crimes have risen over the years and anyone can become a target.
The program is open to all ages.
After the event, participants are welcome to stay and ask questions. A meet-and-greet with pizza will be offered following the session.
