Fornnax launches new shredder for sustainable waste management
Fornnax launched the SR-MAX2500 shredder, designed for the municipal solid waste category, during IFAT India 2024 on October 16th, 2024, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.
Fornnax's shredding and recycling equipment catalogue includes different types of tires, and ferrous and non-ferrous metals, which are both challenging applications. The design of the SR-MAX series machines is based on the SR-Series, with improved capacity, modern engineering, and new technology reflected in the SR-MAX2500 shredder.
Jignesh Kundaria, CEO and director of Fornnax, says, "With the SR-MAX2500, we're poised to transform the waste management landscape in India and beyond. Our goal is to line up municipal waste recycling industries with a robust, efficient, and sustainable solution. Our commitment to sustainability and enhancing the recycling process is a step forward towards achieving India's vision of a net-zero emissions future by 2050."
The Fornnax SR-MAX2500 is designed for efficient volume reduction of diverse materials. The shredder uses hydraulic motors to drive each shaft for power and torque. Its cutter design, replaceable cutting table, and shaft design render it an effective solution for a variety of applications.
Large-scale municipal waste recyclers, cement plants, waste-to-energy plants, mechanical biological treatment facilities, materials recovery centres, construction and demolition recyclers, and aluminum recyclers can use the shredder, as its design is engineered for minimal downtime, maximizing efficiency and profitability.
With rapid urbanization and overpopulation, India ranks among the top 10 countries generating municipal solid waste (MSW), producing around 62 million tons annually. The SR-MAX2500 shredder is equipped to handle India's highly contaminated waste and prioritize recycling and the conversion of MSW into RDF (refuse-derived fuel), contributing to India's transition to a more circular and environmentally conscious economy.
Fornnax is expanding its manufacturing capacity with a new facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Expected to be operational by March 2025, this facility will focus on producing high-capacity machinery for tire recycling, cable recycling, e-waste, metal processing, and more.
